Ranking NASCAR Drivers With the Most Crown Jewel Wins

Winning a NASCAR race is never easy, but winning one of the sport’s crown jewels is a whole different ballgame. Not everyone wins these races, but some of NASCAR’s biggest names have made a habit of showing up when the stakes are highest. From Daytona to Darlington, here are the drivers with the most Crown Jewel Wins in NASCAR history.

David Pearson didn’t mess around when the big money and big trophies were on the line. He won the Coca-Cola 600 and the Southern 500 three times each, and added one Daytona 500 victory to his resume, giving him seven crown jewel wins.

  1. Darrell Waltrip

Darrell Waltrip really made himself at home in the Coca-Cola 600. He won the race five times, more than any of his other crown jewel victories. With a Daytona 500 and a Southern 500 win, Waltrip finished with seven in all.

Denny Hamlin has made the Daytona 500 his playground, winning “The Great American Race” three times. He also has three Southern 500 wins and one Coca-Cola 600 victory, putting him at seven crown jewel wins.

Kevin Harvick knew how to get it done when the pressure was on. His eight jewel wins include three Brickyard 400 victories, two Coca-Cola 600s, two Southern 500s, and one Daytona 500.

Dale Earnhardt’s eight crown jewel wins tell us a lot about “The Intimidator.” He won the Coca-Cola 600 and Southern 500 three times each, and to top it all off, he added a Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 victory to his collection.

Cale Yarborough was tough to beat when the crown jewels were up for grabs. He won the Southern 500 five times and the Daytona 500 four times, accounting for all nine of his crown jewel wins.

Richard Petty racked up 10 crown jewel wins during his legendary career. Seven came at the Daytona 500, along with two Coca-Cola 600 wins and one Southern 500 victory. When the biggest races came around, Petty always knew how to get the job done.

Jimmie Johnson ranks second with 12 crown jewel wins. He made his mark with four Coca-Cola 600 wins, four Brickyard 400 victories, two Daytona 500 wins, and two Southern 500 triumphs.

Jeff Gordon sits at the top of the list with 17 jewel wins, the most of any driver. He really hit the jackpot when it came to NASCAR’s biggest races, picking up three Daytona 500 victories, three Coca-Cola 600 wins, six Southern 500 victories, and five Brickyard 400 wins.
