Editorial Policy

The Authentic News covers NASCAR, Formula 1 and MotoGP. This page sets out how we work: where our reporting comes from, how we handle mistakes, and how we keep editorial decisions separate from commercial ones.

What we publish

We publish race reports, results, driver and team news, technical explainers and analysis. We label our work clearly. News reporting sticks to what is known and attributed. Analysis and opinion carry the writer’s byline and are presented as their assessment, not as fact.

Sourcing and verification

We aim to base reporting on primary sources: official series and team communications, published timing and results, press conferences, and first-hand reporting. Where we rely on another outlet’s reporting, we say so and link to it. Where something is unconfirmed — a rumoured seat change, a paddock report we cannot stand up — we say that plainly rather than presenting it as settled.

We do not publish claims about a driver, team or official that we cannot support. We do not fabricate quotes, and we do not present speculation as reporting.

Bylines and authorship

Articles carry the name of the writer responsible for them, and each writer has an author page listing their work. Where a story is compiled from official releases rather than original reporting, it is published under the publication’s own byline.

Corrections

We correct mistakes. If a published article contains a factual error, we fix it and note what changed, rather than quietly editing the page. Significant corrections are marked on the article itself.

If you have spotted something wrong, tell us through our contact page and include the article and the specific point at issue. We would rather be corrected than be wrong.

Independence

We are an independent publication. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official outlet of NASCAR, Formula 1, MotoGP, or any team, sponsor or sanctioning body we cover.

Advertising and sponsorship have no influence over what we cover or how we cover it. Advertising is presented so that it is distinguishable from editorial content. If an article is sponsored or produced in partnership with a third party, it is labelled as such. If a writer has a relevant interest in something they are covering, it is disclosed in the article.

Images and credits

Photographs are licensed, used with permission, or used under the terms stated in their credit line, which appears with the image. If you believe an image has been used incorrectly, contact us and we will address it promptly.

Comments

Comments are open because readers who follow this sport often know it well. They are moderated: we remove abuse, personal attacks and anything defamatory or unlawful. Comments are the views of the people who write them.
